Elections come and go, but nothing changes, and the masses continue to take it in the shorts. Our Democratic president just negotiated a deal with Israel to give that country $38 billion in military aid to “protect” themselves from the carnage they stir up against the Palestinians, stealing the Palestinians land and killing them, and then acting outraged when they fight back.
Those billions could help our students with their educational debts, or pay for single-payer healthcare, or rebuild our infrastructure. Then consider these endless wars, which will not end. Why? Because it’s big money to be made in killing people. The costs in lives seems to be ignored by our government, both parties benefit from payoffs and have done nothing to resolve or end the wars. Both parties are at fault so nothing will change with the 2016 election. We are being forced to choose between two lousy candidates. The corporate media pays its part in not reporting on this or any other relevant topic.
In the 2020 election, there will be another Bernie Sanders and the little people will win this time for the Bernie Revolution will be smarter and know who, what and how to counteract the corruption we saw in this year’s election. The 99 percent have four years to plan the finish of the Revolution by having our people in place at all government levels, and this means all state, counties and cities.
This needs to be done if there is going to be a debt relief program for college students, single-payer healthcare, pensions for people not to fear old age, prison reform, marijuana legalization, $15 minimum wage and addressing climate change, Black Lives Matter and American Indian or First Persons Lives are protected.
All of this should have started yesterday, four years is not a long time to organize and prepare for this fight. It can be done by the young and old. This is needed not only here in the U.S., but worldwide. The assault on the Have Nots are worldwide and will not get better unless people fight for the change. Just look at England, France and especially Syria and Yemen.
The people of the world who do the on-the-ground fighting and dying need to stand up and say “No more,” no more war profiteering, no more suppressing of the vote, no more economic or lifestyle inequality, no more grinding the little people into dust, no more destroying our environment for profits, and all the other despicable acts committed against the people and earth.
We have to be willing to make sacrifices, such as not enlisting in the military. If people don’t enlist there will be no bodies to do the wealthy’s bidding, and possibly the wars will go away. The energy and money used to fight the wars could be used to rebuild countries and end inequality, which would end the slums where terrorists have a better chance of recruiting members and where politicians, like Donald Trump, use people’s anger against them to direct it at other—different people—instead of recognizing they are being played for a fool.
In 2012 more than a quarter of all political contributions came from just 30,000 people who represented the 1 percent of the 1 percent, 90 percent who spent the most won. Today, we are an experiment in either a democracy, which started in 1787 or an oligarchy, which is winning. The nonunion people, like Trump and Musk, have most all the tools in their pockets to destroy our unions. They have money, they have the courts, they have law enforcement, they have the media, and 50 percent of workers that don’t know this don’t know the history of the working class people. This is the perfect storm to lose all the gains workers have made whether they’re union or not, even our Social Security and Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act. So, now we will have to go way back to the late 1920s and ‘30s and dig up the old labor party books. One book, written in 1964, has the information, The Rebel Voices, an IWW Anthology by Joyce L. Kornbluh, educator, activist, and advocate. The history of our labor...
